My Big Idea was no better or worse than anyone else’s. As a working mom, I often turn to my smartphone to (clears throat) play Angry Birds, check email, the weather, news, and from time to time, MyPennMedicine. There’s an app for everything else, so I thought, why not this? Out of over 1700 ideas, mine was selected to move on to the second round of the Innovation Tournament. At the workshop, I found out there already was an app for this (yay!), but my participation in the tournament didn’t stop there. I joined a group that wanted to improve the check-in/check-out processes. I thought my previous experience in the Hemophilia & Thrombosis Program as well as my current position as a consultant with Ambulatory Scheduling Operations could help get this idea to the next level.
